The year 2000 saw the interruption of our Simoni family’s direct involvement in the company, but the company’s unique history, its rich personal archives of the founder, the largest existing physical Omas collection, have all remained totally and exclusively in our hands.

Recently we have been inspired by that deep heritage, enthusiastically supported by worldwide enthusiasts and collectors, to reconnect the thread paused in 2000. Thanks to collaboration with A.S Distribuzione, a company located in our OMAS home city of Bologna, an exclusive licensing agreement has been signed for our brand, our know-how, and the possibility of working with our archives. This new license is now valid and enforceable for the entire territory of the European Union. 

We foresee that moving forward all products and production of OMAS writing instruments will be entirely conducted in Italy. Furthermore, it will be maintained faithful respect for all the qualitative aspects that have marked and distinguished Omas throughout the world, starting with the unique Cavalier Simoni nib.

The European Union Trademark Omas (EUIPO registration number. 018147331) is owned solely by our family and only the products associated with this registration number can be attributable to it, based on the tradition, quality, technique, and design features described above.

We are thrilled that 2025 will be a year of renewal and ‘renaissance’ for Omas, and we will be communicating directly with collectors and enthusiasts with more information very soon. Perhaps most significantly, our new collaboration will allow us to manifest a new range of writing instruments that will be the perfect combination of tradition and modernity, existing always between the past and the future.
